How Caninecheck Works
Caninecheck is a structured verification directory for dog service providers
We review documentation, monitor compliance, and make verification status visible through standardised badges.
Our role is to verify compliance against defined standards. Not to rank popularity or guarantee service outcomes.
The Verification Process
Every provider listed on Caninecheck passes through a structured, two-layer manual review process.
1
Document submission
Providers submit documentation required for each badge they apply for.
This may include identity verification, insurance documentation, qualification certificates, and supporting evidence, depending on badge requirements.
2
Two-layer manual review
All submissions are reviewed manually against defined badge-specific checklists.
Each application is assessed by one reviewer and verified by a second before approval.
No badge is issued automatically.
3
Approval & badge issuance
If requirements are met, the relevant badge is applied to the provider’s profile.
Badges reflect current verified status only and are time-bound.
What We Verify
Verification on Caninecheck is based on documented evidence.
Each badge has defined requirements that must be met before approval is granted.
Identity
Providers must submit valid identification to confirm their identity before any badge is issued.
Listings must represent real individuals or registered businesses.
Insurance
Where required, providers must supply current insurance documentation relevant to the services they provide.
Expiry dates are recorded and monitored as part of ongoing compliance.
Qualifications & Certifications
For badges that require specific training or accreditation, supporting certificates must be submitted and reviewed manually.
Requirements vary depending on badge type.
Enhanced Background Checks
Certain badges require additional background verification, including DBS documentation where applicable.
Documentation is reviewed manually before approval is granted.
Requirements vary depending on badge level and role.
Service Evidence
Certain badges require additional supporting documentation depending on the standards applied.
Each application is reviewed against defined badge-specific checklists.
Reviews & Evidence
Reviews on Caninecheck are not open submissions.
Each review must be supported by documented evidence before it is published.
Evidence Requirement
Proof of service
To publish a review, providers must submit proof that a service took place.
This may include invoices, receipts, or booking confirmations containing matching customer details.
Documentation is reviewed manually before a review is approved.
Reviews without supporting evidence are not approved.
Identity Verification
Reviewer accountability
Reviews are only published when the service evidence can be matched to a real customer interaction.
Anonymous submissions and unsupported claims are not published.
Publication Standards
Publication criteria
If supporting evidence cannot be provided, the review is not approved.
Caninecheck verifies that a service occurred. It does not assess personal opinions or outcomes.
Reviews reflect verified service interactions, not unverified public opinion.
Ongoing Monitoring & Compliance
Badges are not permanent approvals. Verification status is monitored continuously and updated to reflect current compliance.
1
Automated tracking
Verification documents are tracked within a central compliance system.
Expiry dates are recorded at approval and monitored continuously.
Providers are notified 30 days before any document or badge requirement expires.
2
Grace period & badge status
If a required document expires, the associated badge is greyed out for 7 days.
During this period, the provider may submit updated documentation to the badge to its standard display.
If no update is received, the badge is removed from the listing.
3
Manual compliance control
Suspension decisions are made manually to ensure consistency and quality control.
A listing remains visible while at least one badge remains valid.
If all badges are removed, the listing may be suspended pending review.
Verification reflects current compliance, not past approval.
Badge Status & Expiry
Badges reflect current compliance.
Their appearance changes when documentation expires or requirements are no longer met.
Valid documentation
A badge is displayed in its standard form when all required documentation has been submitted and approved.
Badge appearance reflects whether the provider currently meets the criteria for that badge.
Expired documentation
If a required document expires, the associated badge is greyed out for a 7-day grace period.
This indicates that updated documentation is pending.
Badge removal
If updated documentation is not received within the grace period, the badge is removed from the listing.
Listings remain visible while at least one badge remains valid.
If all badges are removed, the listing may be suspended pending review.
Badge visibility reflects documented compliance at the present time.
What We Do Not Do
Caninecheck verifies documented compliance against defined standards.
It does not guarantee service quality or outcomes.
No service guarantees
Badges confirm that documentation requirements have been met.
They do not guarantee performance, experience, or individual satisfaction.
No unverified ratings
Caninecheck does not publish anonymous opinions or unsupported claims.
Only reviews backed by evidence of a real service interaction are approved.
No outcome assurances
Verification indicates that a provider meets stated criteria at the time of review.
It does not imply future results or service outcomes.
No popularity metrics
Listings are not ranked by review volume, star inflation, or advertising spend.
Badges exist to make verification status visible and comparable.
Designed for standards, not popularity.
