Verification and badge policy

Caninecheck Verification & badge policy

1. Overview

Caninecheck is a trust and verification platform.

We use a badge system to show which verification checks have been completed for each provider.

Badges are based on evidence submitted and reviewed by Caninecheck at a specific point in time. They are designed to improve transparency and help users understand what checks have been carried out.

Badges do not represent endorsements, rankings, or guarantees.

2. What verification means

Verification on Caninecheck means that:

  • Information or documentation has been submitted by a provider
  • That information has been reviewed against defined criteria
  • The outcome of that review is reflected through badges

Verification is:

  • Evidence based
  • Role specific
  • Time limited

Verification does not confirm future behaviour, performance, or outcomes.

3. Badge system

Caninecheck uses a structured badge system to reflect different types of checks.

These include:

  • Verified Provider
  • Home Access Approved
  • Verified Review
  • Compliance+
  • Elite Standard

Each badge represents a different type and level of verification.

Detailed explanations of each badge, including evidence requirements and expiry rules, are provided on the badge definitions page.

4. How verification is carried out

Verification is based on documentation and information submitted by providers.

Depending on the badge, this may include:

  • Identity documents
  • Proof of address
  • Insurance documentation
  • Licences or registrations
  • Service records or review evidence
  • Declarations or confirmations

All documentation is reviewed for verification purposes only.

Caninecheck does not certify, approve, or endorse providers.

5. What badges do and do not mean

Badges indicate that specific checks have been completed.

Badges do:

  • Show that evidence has been reviewed
  • Reflect the outcome of defined verification processes
  • Provide transparency about what has been checked

Badges do not:

  • Guarantee safety, quality, or suitability
  • Confirm ongoing compliance
  • Replace independent checks by users
  • Act as endorsements or recommendations

Users should always make their own judgement before engaging a provider.

6. Time limited verification

All verification is time bound.

This means:

  • Badges are valid only for a defined period after review
  • Documentation must be kept up to date
  • Badges may expire if requirements are no longer met

Expired or removed badges are reflected on provider profiles.

7. Changes, suspension, & removal

Badges may be updated, suspended, or removed where necessary.

This may occur if:

  • Required documentation expires or is withdrawn
  • Information is found to be inaccurate or misleading
  • Verification requirements are no longer met
  • New information becomes available

Caninecheck applies these decisions to maintain the integrity of the platform.

8. Relationship to reviews

Reviews form part of the wider Caninecheck system.

Where applicable:

  • Reviews may be verified using supporting evidence
  • Verified reviews may contribute to badge status

A badge does not confirm that all reviews are accurate or complete.

9. Provider responsibility

Providers are responsible for:

  • Supplying accurate and up to date information
  • Providing valid documentation when requested
  • Maintaining compliance with applicable requirements

Failure to do so may affect verification status and badge eligibility.

10. No guarantee or endorsement

Caninecheck provides a verification system, not a guarantee.

We do not:

  • Guarantee provider behaviour or outcomes
  • Endorse providers or services
  • Accept responsibility for services provided by third parties

Users remain responsible for their own decisions.

11. Changes got this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our processes or regulatory requirements.
