Reviews policy
1. Overview
Caninecheck is a trust and verification platform that includes an evidence-based review system.
Reviews form one part of our wider verification framework. They are used alongside submitted information and supporting evidence to help assess provider credibility.
2. Who can submit a review
You may submit a review if:
- You have had a genuine service interaction with a provider, or
- You have made a genuine attempt to engage a provider
As a minimum, this means:
- A service enquiry or request has been made, and
- The provider has responded or engaged
3. Evidence requirements
Caninecheck operates an evidence-based review system.
Reviews are only published where sufficient evidence of a genuine service interaction is provided.
We may request documentation to support your review. This may include:
- Booking confirmations
- Invoices or receipts
- Email or message correspondence
- Payment confirmations
- Other relevant records
If sufficient evidence is not provided, the review will not be published.
4. Review standards
All reviews must:
- Reflect your genuine experience
- Be accurate to the best of your knowledge
- Relate directly to the provider’s services
- Be written in a fair and proportionate manner
5. Prohibited content
Reviews must not:
- Contain false or misleading information
- Include exaggerated or unverified claims
- Contain defamatory statements or allegations presented as fact without evidence
- Include hate speech, harassment, or threats
- Contain unsubstantiated criminal allegations
- Include irrelevant or excessive personal data
- Be used to promote or unfairly damage a provider’s reputation
- Be submitted on behalf of another person without proper authority
6. Moderation
All reviews are subject to moderation before publication.
We assess:
- Whether eligibility criteria are met
- Whether sufficient evidence has been provided
- Whether the content meets our standards
We may:
- Approve or reject a review
- Request additional information or evidence
7. Removal & reassessment
We may remove or reassess reviews after publication if:
- New information becomes available
- A review is disputed
- A review no longer meets our standards
We aim to apply these decisions consistently and fairly.
8. Interaction with providers
As part of our processes, we may contact providers in relation to:
- Review verification
- Disputes or complaints
- Requests for clarification
9. Relationship to verification
Reviews are one factor within the Caninecheck verification system.
They may be used alongside other information and evidence to:
- Inform verification decisions
- Support or reassess provider status
- Contribute to badge allocation
A review being published does not in itself indicate that a provider is verified.
10. Reviewer identity
Reviewer names are displayed using a first name and initial.
This supports transparency while maintaining a level of privacy.
11. Your responsibility
By submitting a review, you confirm that:
- Your submission is honest and accurate
- You have the right to share any supporting evidence
- Your review complies with this policy
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time.
